Hearing loss and balance disorders can be a major cause of social and interpersonal discomfort and embarrassment. At the ENT Center of New Braunfels, we are dedicated to improving your quality of life by providing a comprehensive range of audiological and vestibular diagnostic and rehabilitative services.
Your journey to better hearing begins with a comprehensive audiological evaluation which examines your ability to hear soft sounds and understand speech. Based on your hearing loss, lifestyle, and communication needs, Dr. Rast will recommend the hearing aids or assistive listening device needed to help you overcome your specific communication challenges. Additionally, as hearing loss affects both the person with the hearing loss and his/her significant other, you are encouraged to bring someone with you to your appointment. Hearing aids can significantly improve your quality of life, but there is a period of adjustment as your brain learns to process sounds you haven’t heard in years.

For all of our patients, we also provide a variety of hearing-related products (custom swim plugs, electronic and filtered hearing protection, as well as custom ear pieces for cell phones/portable music devices).

For our patients suffering from balance and dizziness disorders, diagnosis of your condition will begin with an audiological evaluation. Based on the outcome of the audiological evaluation and your answers on a symptom-based written questionnaire, additional testing of your vestibular system may be required. We have state-of-the art Videonystagmography (VNG) diagnostic equipment which enables us to pinpoint the cause of your symptoms.
For more information, you may contact Dr. Rast directly at 830-627-3777 or send us an email via our contact form.

Glenda Rast, Au.D., received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr Rast completed her Doctorate of Audiology degree (Au.D.) through Salus University, George S. Osborne School of Audiology.
Her clinical interests include diagnostic hearing and balance evaluations and the selection and fitting of digital amplification. Dr Rast strives to provide professional, personalized patient care while making the audiological process as simple as possible, tailoring hearing aid recommendations and selection, if needed, to your hearing loss, lifestyle, and communication needs.
If you cannot carry on a conversation in the presence of noise, the environment is too loud for your ears and could cause a permanent hearing loss.
